Coursework

This page highlights some of my favorite coursework created during my time in college while earning my degree.

01

Graphic Novel Cover

For this project, we were tasked with creating a graphic novel comic book cover by designing a character and background in Adobe Illustrator. The character concept was based loosely on ourselves. Everything had to be custom-made in Illustrator, as we were not allowed to use the Image Trace feature. This ensured that all elements, from the character design to the background, were created entirely from scratch, allowing for full creative control and refinement of the artwork.

02

Photoshop Final - Poster Ad

For my final project in one of my classes, I created a poster ad for the U.S. Military. Using Photoshop, I combined multiple images, carefully blending them to create a seamless and cohesive design. I focused on conveying a powerful message that highlighted the strength, unity, and dedication of the military. To achieve this, I paid close attention to composition, lighting, and color, ensuring the images worked together harmoniously. The final design not only captured the essence of the military but also emphasized the call to action, encouraging viewers to engage with the message in a meaningful way.

03

Suicide Prevention Poster

For this project, I had to create a suicide prevention poster using a famous quote to give it more impact. The design needed to include a website and a promotional message for a suicide prevention hotline or website, while ensuring the image was suitable for both web and print use. I focused on creating a visually impactful layout that would resonate emotionally with the audience. The choice of typography, color scheme, and imagery were carefully selected to evoke a sense of hope and support, while the quote served as a powerful reminder of the importance of reaching out for help. The final design was optimized for clarity and accessibility, ensuring the message was effectively communicated across different platforms.

04

Visual Branding Ad Project

For this project, I had to create multiple visual branding ads for a company of my choice—I chose Nike. The assignment required three types of ads: a synergy ad (text and imagery), a visual ad (imagery only), and a text-focused ad. This was my "Visual" ad, created in Photoshop using multiple images, gradients, and blending tools.

05

Brand Design Research Paper and Poster

For this project, I conducted in-depth research on Nike’s brand history, logo evolution, and design influences. The research covered the origins of the brand, the designer behind its iconic logo, and the artistic and cultural movements that shaped its visual identity. I explored how Nike's branding developed over time, including its design style, key products, major accomplishments, and inspirations.

Based on my research, I created a Nike Brand Research Poster that visually showcases the evolution of the brand. The poster highlights Nike’s beginnings, its logo transformation, and its impact on sports, culture, and design. Designed in Photoshop, the final piece was formatted for both digital and print use, meeting professional design standards.

06

Synergy Poster Ad

For this project, I had to create multiple visual branding ads for a company of my choice—I chose Nike. The assignment required three types of ads: a synergy ad (text and imagery), a visual ad (imagery only), and a text-focused ad. This was my "Synergy" ad, which combines both text and imagery. I created it in Photoshop using multiple images, gradients, blending tools, and typography to reinforce Nike’s brand message.

07

Typography Focused Poster Ad

For this project, I had to create multiple visual branding ads for a company of my choice—I chose Nike. The assignment required three types of ads: a synergy ad (text and imagery), a visual ad (imagery only), and a text-focused ad. This was my "Typography Focused" ad, which combines both text and imagery. I created it in Photoshop using multiple images, gradients, blending tools, and typography to reinforce Nike’s brand message.

08

Infographic Project
Adobe Illustrator

For this project, we were tasked with creating a zoo animal infographic in Adobe Illustrator. I chose the American Black Bear and included key information such as diet, behavior, range, and conservation status, along with engaging visuals of the bear in its natural habitat. I used icons, color schemes, and clean typography to make the information clear and visually appealing. This project helped me refine my skills in vector illustration and organizing information in a dynamic, accessible format.

Event Poster Design Project

For this project, we were tasked with creating an event poster that adhered to strong typography principles and a clear visual hierarchy. The goal was to design a cohesive, informative poster that effectively showcased the event. I blended multiple images, using textures and concert visuals, to create a dynamic scene featuring a band on stage with a cheering crowd beneath the event details. The careful use of layering, blending, and positioning ensured the images worked seamlessly together while maintaining a balanced and impactful design. This project allowed me to refine my skills in creating visually engaging layouts while ensuring the message was clear and well-structured.

10

Album Cover Design

For this project, we were tasked with creating an album cover, spine, and back cover. While we could use any program for the design, the text had to be implemented using InDesign. I chose Photoshop to design the cover, spine, and back cover. As with my other projects, I incorporated multiple images and textures, utilizing blending tools to create a cohesive design. Once the layout was complete, I ensured that the file was set up for print readiness, exporting the design from InDesign with all necessary specifications for professional printing.
